Sheen's wife predicted Al Pacino's success - Apr 11, 2007
Hollywood actor Martin Sheen was surprised when his wife anticipated Al Pacino's succes in his beginning known as 'Little Al' in the early 1960s. Janet Templeton, who got married to Sheen in 1961 and is mother to his famous actors sons (actors Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen) predicted Pacino would be a legend after watching his performance in a small off-Broadway play.Sheen tells Empire magazine, "I remember Janet saw him acting in some little play off Broadway somewhere and said, 'That guy is going to be a major star.' "And we looked at her and said, 'Really? That's little Al!' She said 'Oh you watch.' And he was. "He was the first one to break through and no one ever - in the group that I came up with - equalled his success. "He was that big a talent. We all knew it but we couldn't equate talent to success."
